Recently a visitor mentioned he had hesitated buying my guide when first visiting because we had no site verification badges. Granted, that if you start receiving a large number of complaints through their systems, they will drop your subscription. BUT, its a very rare thing to see any negative things about anyone's website due to legal liabilities. If you don't believe me, ask a local store owner his opinions of his local BBB. You might be surprised at the answer.

You might also be surprised to hear that some authority sites will charge a fee to get you onto their "favored lists".

In plain terms, anyone who has the money to spend can buy a good looking label on their site.
